Abstract

Non-radiative plasmonic decay generates energetic charge carriers that rapidly thermalize; however, if captured quickly, these hot electrons can be harnessed for a range of applications. Now, a hot-carrier artificial leaf, made by gold-titanium dioxide plasmonic interfaces, demonstrates excellent performance for both in vivo bioelectronics and pixel-free artificial vision systems.
