:Fisheye-image-based methods have recently emerged as an effective and innovative approach for estimating hourly incident solar irradiance on building surfaces under complex obstruction conditions. However, this method relies on fisheye images taken at different times, which leads to low efficiency and limited general applicability. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a computational method that requires only a single fisheye image to estimate the hourly incident solar radiation on building surfaces. First, by mapping the solar three-dimensional (3D) polar coordinates to their two-dimensional (2D) planar projections, the solar position can be determined within a fisheye image for any date and time using only a single photograph taken perpendicular to a wall or roof. This enables rapid determination of whether the point is sunlit at different times and facilitates the calculation of incident solar irradiance at any given moment. Building on this, the continuity of solar trajectories captured in fisheye images is utilized to further reveal the spatio-temporal variation and seasonal characteristics of incident solar radiation. This provides a refined analytical tool for predicting dynamic shading effects of complex ground-objects on building surfaces and for evaluating the power-generation potential of photovoltaic installation locations. The proposed method comprehensively accounts for multiple factors including solar radiation, reflected radiation, and transmitted radiation. It is applicable to building façades and roofs of arbitrary orientation and tilt. The method further demonstrates high accuracy and wide applicability, providing a rigorous scientific basis for the precise assessment of building thermal-radiative environments under complex obstruction conditions.
