Abstract

• A modular architecture for paper-based EC devices is proposed to avoid the disposal of the entire device. • Successful demonstration of a replaceable active layer interface that maintains electrochemical stability. • The device design allows for the reuse of the paper substrate by replacing the active electrode layers.
