• “Daytime increment” analysis reverses the source attribution of O3 formation in PRD. • Intra-regional emissions, not inter-regional transport, govern daytime O3 exceedances. • O3 increment sources shift from local upwind to intra-regional transport downwind. • Intra-regional OVOC contributions grow along pathways, driving downwind ozone formation.
