Decellularized Material This cover illustration highlights the use of decellularized meniscal fibrocartilage, harvested from a porcine donor, that can act as a graft for the repair of a perforated tympanic membrane. The cells and fibrin are stripped from the cartilage matrix, leaving behind channels that allow patient cells to engraft into the decellularized material and aid in the healing process.
