Abstract

• The variation patterns of fiber stress and displacement under tensile, bending, and torsional loading were investigated and validated through in-situ experiment. • A cross-scale analysis was conducted on the mechanical property transfer and damage evolution of commingled fiber bundles. • By inserting P84 fibers, a novel method was proposed to indirectly reflect the distribution patterns of fibers at the microscale. • The phenomenon of fiber clustering at the microscale was quantitatively analyzed using Moran’s I.
