The design and processing of ceramic components with hierarchical porosity and complex morphologies for biomedical, filtration, and catalytic applications have been strongly promoted by the rapid development of additive manufacturing (AM). In such applications, both internal and external geometries govern fluid dynamics, while adequate mechanical properties are required to ensure structural integrity. However, the mechanical behavior of architected porous ceramics remains scarcely documented.
