• Prospective COVID-19 diagnosis was linked to higher baseline levels of immune mediators; • Short-time onset and clinical outcome were related with higher levels of immune mediators; • Complex network structures underscore short-time onset, mild and short-lasting symptoms; • GM-CSF, CCL11, CXCL10 and TNF-α effectively categorized COVID-19(+) from COVID-19(-); • Decision-tree applies to time of disease onset, severity, symptoms duration and age.
