Abstract
En 中文
Biointegrated batteries offer innovative technological platforms for tissue regeneration and disease treatment. Beyond serving as a power source for medical devices, they actively contribute to therapy by generating localized electric fields (EFs) and releasing therapeutically beneficial products. Accordingly, biointegrated batteries support a wide range of biomedical applications, including tissue regeneration, cancer therapy, cardiac pacing, and drug delivery. This review offers an overview of the recent advances in biointegrated battery-based electroceuticals, emphasizing their applications in electrostimulation, electrochemical product-mediated therapy, and drug delivery. This review provides a brief overview of the working principles of battery-based electrocatalysts, focusing on their therapeutic mechanisms and highlighting their unique contributions in advancing disease treatment strategies. Finally, we discuss the future directions and provide insights into the broad adoption of battery-based electroceutical technologies in next-generation biomedical therapeutics.
