Abstract

Abstract

Ensuring interoperability and reusability of digital assets is crucial for scientific data management. FAIR Digital Objects (FDOs) provide a structured approach for achieving this by widely adhering to the FAIR principles. However, due to the absence of a semantic layer, findability and cross-domain interoperability are limited. This work presets a foundational framework for representing FDOs using Semantic Web technologies. To facilitate interoperability, we leverage the Simple Standard for Sharing Ontological Mappings (SSSOM) to map properties of the Helmholtz Kernel Information Profile (KIP), which is used in our FDO use case, to ontology entities. Additionally, we develop a tool that converts FDO attributes into RDF triples for further integration into knowledge graphs.
