In this article, we explored effective and comprehensive interference handling methods for 4G and 5G networks in real communication systems. First, we categorized and described various interference types by extracting interference metrics, offering insights into effective handling methods. Then, we established a standardized interference alleviation process for 4G and 5G networks, which includes field spectrum scanning, precise source localization, and interference handling techniques such as external interference adjustments, power and frequency optimizations, and filter installations. Moreover, in real-world applications, the proposed economical and efficient interference handling approach decreased interference proportions from 3.32% to 1.97%, significantly enhancing network performance and user experiences. Finally, the comprehensive and practical solutions for interference investigation and rectification presented in this work provide significant reference value for related industries and future technological advancements.
