• CD acts as a catalytic initiator in SMS co-pyrolysis, altering reaction pathways. • Co-pyrolysis enhanced the gas yield to 34.4 wt%, with an H2/CO ratio of 1.15(800 °C). • Catalytic synergy lowers the apparent activation energy for deep cracking by 18.1%. • 2D-PCIS proves CD amino acid cleavage induces early fracture of SMS C-O/CO bonds. • Co-pyrolysis eliminates unstable amines and enriches stable oxygenated compounds.
