• CROWNFIRE-AI software generates predictions of crown fire risk at regional scale. • User-friendly software that integrates Google Earth Engine processing capabilities. • Sentinel-2-based model achieved high fire type prediction accuracy (F1 = 0.88). • MODIS model had lower accuracy but improved data availability near target dates. • CROWNFIRE-AI support current and 16-day ahead crown fire risk predictions.
