• A process-based frost module was developed and coupled with CAMM to establish CAMM_Fro for winter wheat. • CAMM_Fro simulates the full frost process, including cold acclimation, cold resistance, biomass/yield loss, and recovery. • CAMM_Fro exhibits robust capability in frost monitoring (98.2%) and early warning (96.2%). • The model distinguishes the differential impacts of single frost and repeated frosts.
