Abstract
En 中文
• Water is revisited from a detrimental impurity to a functional regulator in Mn-based cathodes. Its dual roles in triggering degradation and enabling stabilization are systematically unified. • The electrochemical impact of H2O is governed by its structural state, location, and interaction with the host lattice. • Crystal or lattice H2O can act as electrostatic shields and structural pillars. These effects mitigate lattice strain, suppress Mn dissolution, and facilitate Na⁺ diffusion. • The functional role of water is extended beyond Mn-based oxides to broader rechargeable battery systems.
