Abstract

Abstract

• Polarity of the early N1pc component was reversed for 2D, but not 3D targets. • A larger and later N2pc component was evoked by 3D compared to 2D targets. • These differences in the N2pc component were found over the left hemisphere only. • Findings suggest early automatic capture of attention by stimuli containing depth. • Later processing for 3D shape relies on top-down attention and is left lateralised.
