• A new technology of electro-ultrasonic coupling is proposed to significantly improve fine particle removal efficiency. • The synergistic effect of the electric and ultrasonic fields significantly outperforms the single-field removal efficiency. • The optimal parameters were determined through experiments, enhancing particle agglomeration and effective removal. • Electro-ultrasonic coupling drivers particle motion, improving collisions, agglomerate stability, and-filtration.
