• Rp of the symmetrical SP02F|BZCY|SP02F cell achieved to 0.079 Ω·cm−2 at 750 °C. • Pr-doping increases the oxygen vacancy concentration and Fe3+/Fe4+ redox couple. • DRT shows that the rate-limiting steps of ORR are charge transfer and ion transport processes.
