多变量模式分析(MVPA)通过联合利用时域和空域信息,提供了一种敏感的解码分布式神经活动的方法。基于光泵磁强计(OPM)的脑磁图(MEG)能够实现接近头皮的测量,因此预期其相比基于超导量子干涉器件(SQUID)的常规系统能够捕获具有更高空间分辨率的神经磁场。本研究通过时间分辨MVPA对OPM-和SQUID-MEG进行了受试者内比较,以解码对图像和对应词语呈现的视觉对象的神经响应,记录来自相同参与者在相同实验范式和匹配预处理下的数据。为分离空间采样的贡献,在控制的传感器数量和空间频率内容下评估了解码性能,并使用传感器拓扑的球谐展开进行量化。同时包含互补的全阵列SQUID分析作为参考。结果表明,在传感器匹配的比较中,OPM-MEG的解码准确率高于SQUID-MEG,其优势尤其在词语解码中显著,OPM在广泛的传感器数量范围内也超过了全阵列SQUID。进一步的空间频率内容分析显示,OPM-MEG受益于更高阶空间分量的加入。这些发现表明,OPM-MEG增强了细粒度神经表示在多变量解码中的可恢复性,对认知神经科学研究以及脑-机接口等神经工程应用具有重要启示。
