In this paper, we present a possible benchmark for assessing the validity of information system (IS) evaluation techniques. Drawing exhaustively from the IS evaluation literature, we have consolidated a short-form measure of implementation success. This has been tested in the field. The arguments that we present will be of considerable interest to IS evaluation researchers and project managers who have to cope with the lack of standard and structured practices in measuring implementation success.
