• First dihedral angle measurements of Fe(-Ni)-S-O melts in majorite garnet. • Dihedral angle decreases with increasing temperature, S+O content, and fO2. • Dihedral angles in majorite garnet are ∼10° lower than in ringwoodite. • Dihedral angles remain above 60°, making Martian mantle a percolation barrier. • Trapped melts in the Martian mantle act as hidden reservoirs for HSEs, C, and N. .
