• Inclined gas-liquid flow in helical coils is captured by high-resolution WMS. • Force-vector analysis decouples centrifugal and asymmetric gravity effects. • Inclination induces profound azimuth-dependent phase spatial redistribution. • Despite local variations, global cross-sectional gas inventory is conserved. • Inclination causes a systematic leftward shift in flow transition boundaries.
