Goal-oriented requirements analysis techniques focus on organizational as well as technical objectives. Once they select a set of alternatives to achieve these objectives, they can elaborate them during subsequent phases to make them more precise and complete. Using UML as an example, this article argues that the object-oriented analysis method can be complemented with other, goal-oriented analysis techniques.
