• ZnO-TpMA COF based S-scheme composite heterostructured photocatalyst is fabricated. • ZnO particles are anchored with the CN and CO groups of TpMA COF • Oxytetracycline degradation efficiency reaches 70% within 20 min. • The active radicals of O2− and ·OH dominate the oxidative pathways responsible for OTC degradation.
