The Sagnac resonance splitting is linearly dependent on the resonator size, creating a fundamental limitation for miniaturizing optical gyroscopes. To address this issue, researchers have recently proposed the exceptional surface (ES) concept. The ES preserves the sensitivity signature of exceptional points (EP) to tiny perturbations, significantly enhancing the Sagnac effect, while also demonstrating excellent stability. However, an ES-based gyroscope fails when the laser's angular frequency changes, preventing its real-world application. Our work resolves this issue by implementing the ES in standard interferometric waveguide rings. This approach provides two key advantages: 1) it achieves extremely high sensitivity at low rotation speeds, and 2) it eliminates all measurement errors caused by variations in the angular frequency of the laser. These results enable the development of new, ultra-miniature, high-precision optical gyroscopes and establish a new direction for micro-optical gyroscope research.
