GaussDB: A Cloud-Native Multi-Primary Database with Compute-Memory-Storage Disaggregation

云原生数据库因具备高弹性、高可用性和低成本等优点而被广泛部署。然而,大多数现有的云原生数据库不支持多写者,因此在写入吞吐量和可扩展性方面存在局限性。为缓解这一限制,需要具备高写入吞吐量和高可扩展性的多主数据库。本文提出了一种云原生多主数据库GaussDB,它采用三层(计算-内存-存储)解耦框架,其中计算层负责事务处理,内存层负责全局缓冲管理和全局锁管理,存储层用于页面和日志持久化。为提供多主能力,GaussDB将页面逻辑分区到不同的计算节点,并将每个页面的所有权分配给一个计算节点。对于提交到计算节点的每个事务,如果该计算节点拥有该查询的所有相关页面,则该节点可本地处理该查询;否则,GaussDB会将相关页面的所有权转移至该节点。为捕捉数据亲和性并降低页面传输成本,GaussDB设计了一种新颖的页面放置和查询路由方法。为提高恢复性能,GaussDB采用了一种两阶段(内存-存储)检查点恢复方法,该方法结合内存检查点与按需页面恢复,显著提升了恢复性能。我们已在华为内部及客户环境中实现了并部署了GaussDB,结果表明,相较于当前最先进的基准系统,GaussDB实现了更高的吞吐量、更低的延迟和更快的恢复速度。
