Graphitic biochar-anammox achieved by multi-heme-based extracellular electron transfer
DOI:10.1016/j.watres.2025.124704.png)
Abstract
En 中文
• Biochar-anammox leveraged graphitic defects for multi-heme electron transfer. • Biochar-anammox achieved 62 % N removal and 28 % N2O reduction under limited nitrite. • Denitrifying and ammonia oxidizing bacteria dominated the surface niche of biochar. • Anaerobic ammonia oxidation bacteria were responsible for heme precursor production. • Biofilm on biochar exhibited conductivity under zero-nitrite supply.
