• Cumulative decommissioned PV area reaches 1.38 × 10⁴ km² by 2050, surging after 2040. • Decommissioned PV resources are concentrated in Northwest China and dispersed across east-central China. • Total recyclable resources reach 68 Mt, with >70% in Northwest, North, and East China. • A 15–20-facility network best balances transport efficiency and facility scale.
