• A highly flexible polyester macroinitiator was used to construct PLGAFPM multiblocks. • FPM incorporation altered thermal behavior and weakened ordered packing of PLGA. • PLGAFPM10 retained 55.6 MPa strength with 182.9 % elongation at break. • Seawater immersion showed composition-dependent mass retention behavior.
