Significant progress has been made developing a SiC/SiC ceramic matrix composite material for aeronautic combustor liner applications. Improvements in material processing technology have resulted in improved thermal conductivity and fatigue durability. A material characterization effort is underway to assess material behavior and direct material development efforts.
