Abstract

• SnO2/CMK-3 composite as anode material for lithium-ion batteries was synthesized. • The deformation features of SnO2/CMK-3-based electrodes were in-situ monitored. • The evolution characteristics of plane stress in the electrodes was evaluated. • The contributions of electrochemical and mechanical components on the plane stress were analyzed. • The mechano-electrochemical coupling mechanism for SnO2/CMK-3-based electrodes was discussed.
