• GNP-PFePc enables interfacial PDS activation over Fe-Nₓ-C sites. • Surface-bound radicals drive petroleum hydrocarbons degradation in crude-oil-contaminated water. • GNP-PFePc/PDS treatment system removes 94.9% in 150 min. • Kinetics support adsorption-assisted interfacial oxidation. • GC-MS profiling reveals structure-dependent hydrocarbon attenuation.
