Abstract

Catalyst-aided amine regeneration represents a promising strategy to alleviate the high-energy-consumption bottleneck in CO2 capture. However, conventional solid acid catalysts possess limited proton-donating capacity and inferior electron transfer efficiency, making it challenging to realize efficient catalytic amine regeneration and reduced energy consumption. Herein, we in situ synthesize a WOCo bridged oxyhydroxide catalyst (CNT@WCo) on CNTs. The WOCo structure induces directional electron transfer from Co to W, polarizing hydroxyl groups and enhancing proton donation. The high conductivity of CNTs promotes efficient PCET, stabilizing the electron-deficient Co center and weakening the CN bond. CNT@WCo increases instantaneous CO2 desorption rate by 8.66 times and reduces relative heat duty by 59%, with excellent cyclic stability. In situ FTIR and DFT reveal strong carbamate adsorption, electron rearrangement, and CN bond elongation. The synergistic mechanism of W-mediated proton donation and CNT-governed PCET is established, providing theoretical and technical support for designing high-performance catalysts for energy-efficient CO2 capture.
