• A novel GRPM structure integrates directional noise control with ventilation capabilities. • Synergistic absorption is achieved via rainbow trapping, wave interference, and porous dissipation. • Resonator neck positioning modulates wave propagation and critically affects absorption efficiency. • A hybrid DNN–GA inverse design enables efficient dual-port optimisation for tailored asymmetric absorption. • Optimised GRPM (D1) achieves low-frequency broadband sound absorption over 284-2000 Hz.
