Abstract

• Gd,Dy co-doped CeO2 was successfully integrated with SrTiO3 to form phase-pure fluorite–perovskite heterostructures. • Rietveld refinement confirmed lattice expansion and enhanced oxygen vacancy formation due to rare-earth co-doping. • Raman analysis revealed defect-related modes indicating increased oxygen vacancy concentration at CeO2–SrTiO3 interfaces. • The 70:30 Ce0.90Gd0.05Dy0.05 O2-δ –SrTiO3 composite exhibited the highest conductivity of 1.12 S cm−1 at 650 °C. • Heterointerface engineering significantly improved ionic transport for intermediate-temperature SOFC applications.
