Abstract
En 中文
• A new class of L2-centroids defined as the roots of orthogonal polynomials associated with the distribution. • The proposed L2-centroids provide an analytically tractable alternative to classical quantization. • Closed-form expressions for the two-centroid case are obtained in terms of low-order moments • The two-centroid case enables fast computation and interpretable dependence on distribution’s skewness. • The proposed centroids are applied to clustering and functional approximation problems.
