This study examines the legislative policy for renewable energy in light of the requirements of sustainable development in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It analyzes the extent to which the legal and regulatory framework governing the energy sector aligns with the requirements of sustainable development in its environmental; economic; and social dimensions. Therefore; the study aims to reveal the direction of UAE legislation in supporting the transition to clean energy; clarify the legal protections afforded to investment in this field; and assess the effectiveness of legal texts in achieving energy security and promoting a green economy. The study adopted a descriptive and analytical approach to address this topic; employing public policy analysis tools to clarify the legislator’s objectives and the impact of legislation on achieving sustainable development. The study concludes that UAE legislative policy has made significant progress in supporting renewable energy projects by establishing a flexible and investment-friendly regulatory framework. However; it still faces some challenges related to the integration of federal and local jurisdictions and the need for further legislative harmonization. The study recommends strengthening institutional integration; developing legal incentive mechanisms; and establishing oversight mechanisms to ensure the long-term sustainability of renewable energy projects.
