• A novel Caputo time-fractional model is developed for Carreau fluid, accurately capturing its memory and hereditary effects. • A unique space and velocity dependent internal heat source is introduced for enhanced thermal realism. • The study quantifies key engineering parameters, showing a 14.5% decrease in Nusselt number with rising permeability. • Advanced vortex identification (Q-criterion) and heatmaps reveal complex flow structures beyond standard profiles.
