摘要

En 中文
Simulation-based training supports active learning, enabling students to acquire complex knowledge and skills. Such training is inevitable whenever knowledge of and experience with professional simulation tools is essential for job fulfilment. Telematics within the training domain enables more openness and flexibility for courses and it offers synchronous and asynchronous training solutions at a distance. MODEM-Multimedia Optimisation and Demonstration in Microelectronics-exploits both technologies to establish a European-wide training service for industry acid higher education. MODEM uses a virtual campus to simplify access to its services. MODEM's educational settings differ in degrees of time- and location-independence and provided support. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
