• Hydra is the first documented occurrence of pollucite in the Canadian Appalachian Orogen. • Hydra is a compositionally and texturally zoned, lepidolite sub-type pegmatite dyke. • New tourmaline 40Ar/39Ar emplacement age of 374 ± 4 Ma for the dyke. • Multiple minerals including silicate, phosphate, and oxide minerals were identified in the dyke.
