• Proposing strong cavity-local resonance coupling to enhance mode conversion efficiency for improved structural acoustic energy dissipation. • Low-frequency broadband sound absorption achieved at deep subwavelength thickness ( λ/65). • Design efficiency enhanced via multi-parameter concurrent optimization in metamaterials using genetic algorithms. • Analysis accuracy validated through cross-verification of theoretical and FEM approaches.
