Abstract

1. Mononuclear semiconducting and luminescent Dy(III) complexes (DP1–DP4) were synthesized using a fluorinated β-diketonate and 1,10-phenanthroline-based ancillary ligands sensitizer. 2. Wide band-gap semiconducting behavior observed with HOMO–LUMO gaps of 2.98–3.35 eV. 3. Intense yellow emission at 575 nm arises from the 4F9/2 → 6H13/2 transition of Dy(III). 4. Balanced ligand-based blue and Dy-centered yellow emission produces near-white light output (CIE validated). 5. Complexes exhibit high thermal stability with elevated decomposition temperatures, suitable for device fabrication.
