This review comprehensively analyzes recent developments in nanozyme-based colorimetric bio sensing platforms for dopamine detection. We systematically examine the underlying catalytic mechanisms primarily peroxidase-like, oxidase-like, and laccase-like activities that facilitate specific chromogenic responses to dopamine. Furthermore, herein outline nanozyme-based therapeutic strategies designed to counteract oxidative stress in neurological disorders, with a specific focus on Parkinson's disease. This review also elucidates the mechanistic role of nanozymes in scavenging reactive oxygen species and their consequent efficacy in alleviating Parkinson's disease specific pathological biomarkers and associated symptomatology. A critical overview of the prevailing limitations and challenges inherent to nanozyme-based biosensing platforms, alongside proposing corresponding strategic recommendations for their advancement are given to expedite the research gap for future research. Integrating the latest research developments, this work provides a foundational reference for nanozyme-based dopamine detection and oxidative stress management strategies, filling a significant gap in the literature on this rapidly evolving field.
