• A novel semi-analytical approximation framework to investigate the probabilistic response of stochastic fractional vibro-impact systems is presented. • The proposed method can capture the complete evolution of the probability density from the transient state to the steady state. • The accuracy and robustness are verified through numerical simulations and multiple error metrics. • The complex fractional moment method achieves a speedup of over 130 times compared to traditional Monte Carlo simulations.
