With the intensification of human activities, the interaction between social behaviors and the ecological environment has become increasingly strong. The ecosystem service functions are now dominated by the ecological base and have evolved into a dual influence of ecological conditions and social behaviors. However, previous studies mainly focused on the impact of a single factor on ecosystem services(ES), and the mechanism of the interaction between factors was covered less. Therefore, this study established an index system for the influence of social and ecological factors, and used the gradient boosting decision tree model to analyze the interaction between social and ecological factors and the complex impacts on ES. The research results show: ① When the level of economic and social development is low, ecological factors dominate ES; as the level of economic and social development increases, social factors become the main determining factor affecting ES. ② Net primary productivity (NPP) is the main ecological factor affecting ES, and the interaction intensity between NPP and social factors is far greater than the impact of social factors alone on ES. ③ In the future, attention should be focused on the interaction between NPP and social factors, as this interaction will play a key role in ES. This study interprets the mechanism of the interaction between social and ecological factors on ES, providing solutions for enhancing ecosystem service functions.
