• Jet impingement cooling of a high-temperature thin-walled cylinder is studied. • The effects of key jet parameters on cooling performance are compared. • Secondary-peak occurrence in local Nu and evolution with jet parameters are analyzed. • Thermal deformation is analyzed based on a thermal-fluid-structure coupled model.
