? Acute kidney injury is common in patients with cancer. ? Patients with cancer who are critically ill have the highest risk of acute kidney injury. ? Acute kidney injury is associated with increased morbidity, mortality, length of stay, and costs in hospitalized patients with cancer. ? Patients with malignancy can develop kidney diseases similar to other acutely and chronically ill patients and are also at risk for unique kidney syndromes because of either the cancer itself or its treatment. ?
