This paper presents an operating switching frequency range selection algorithm for an inductively coupled heating system that incorporates a compensation resonant circuit to improve the load-side power factor and overall power conversion efficiency. The integration of the compensation resonant circuit introduces an additional resonant frequency at which the output power reaches its maximum, thereby generating multiple resonant frequencies. Consequently, an operating frequency region exhibiting a higher load-side power factor can be identified even under identical output power conditions. The proposed algorithm determines the optimal switching frequency range that achieves a higher load-side power factor across multiple resonant frequency regions while maintaining the same output power. Its validity was confirmed by MATLAB simulations and experimental tests.
