• 52 concrete cylinders were tested under active and passive FRP confinement. • Path-independence assumption is verified for RBDC up to 30% replacement ratio. • The inclusion of brick dust diminishes the lateral expansion of confined concrete. • A modified model shows good predictive capability for RBDC-filled FRP tubes.
