• Peak blast pressures were strongly influenced by hydrogen gas volume in a confined space. • Exposure to cryogenic freeze-thaw cycles leads to increased structural cracking and deflection. • Cryogenic freeze-thaw cycling dramatically compromised the blast resistance of RC slabs.
